There has been much debate in many forums about Sam being a gay for pay adult actress. Well, many people's definition of g4p is different. Some say (using women as an example): A girl who does lesbian scenes for the money but does not date women in her personal life. Others say: I (straight) woman who does lesbian scenes for the money but gets absolutely no enjoyment out of it--basically it's just a paycheck. My view has always been closer to the latter. Straight women or women who have absolutely no (NIL!) interest in women should NEVER, EVER do lesbian porn! I mean, come the fuck on! We can spot you a mile away. You ain't foolin' anyone, sweet cheeks.
As for Samantha, she has said some conflicting things over the years, from saying she likes women "to a certain extent," to she's "had enough pussy to last a lifetime," to "It's great when you work with girls who also like girls," to "If you're not into girls, why are you here?" Samantha has been very up-front about the fact that she prefers men in her personal life and that she could never see herself in a relationship with a woman (except for perhaps fellow starlet Avy Scott). But, does all of this make SRyan g4p? I say no. If you've ever seen her scenes with women, it is highly evident that Samantha ENJOYS sex with women. And, who's to say that she doesn't fuck women in her personal life? Having a relationship with a woman is totally different than fucking some hot girl just because you both want it.
But, come to your own conclusions. When Tera Patrick (who has said she is straight countless times) was pressured into doing g/g scenes, the results were atrocious. You could totally tell that she was just not into it. Samantha is the polar opposite of this. Although she had never been with a woman (except for a romp with the girlfriend who introduced her to the business in 2004), you would never know it now. She may not "crave" women in her personal life the way we'd like to think she does, but does that really matter? She may not have a bisexual flag flowing in the wind on her balcony--does THAT really matter? Some would say it does, some would say it does not. I don't care how good of an actress she is, you can't fake genuine arousal. The point is, by her own account, Samantha Ryan likes women and enjoys working with women. The extent of her fondness for women isn't something we (or probably even she) can measure. Kinsey Scale, anyone? Sexuality is fluid. The things that turn us on as humans can change drastically over time through exposure and experience.

You know what? FUCK anyone who says Samantha Ryan is gay for pay. Each time I see her sex scenes with women, especially those she has great chemistry with & loves working with, it's obvious that she's NOT gay for pay. Period.
